The goals and objectives of the Apprentice Level 1
program are to provide a basic understanding of animal behavior and the
application of positive training techniques to dog training.This program also exposes the candidate to basic techniques used in
teaching dog owners how to train their dogs.This program will help the candidate determine if a career in dog
training and animal behavior is something they wish to pursue.The candidate must be a self-starter, motivated, a good problem
solver, and possess or desire to learn good people skills.
This program is structured to provide
instruction and education in three distinct areas.These include observation and participation in group training,
private lessons, boarding training , and one-on-one training, group
discussion, and outside reading and audio-visual education.
Successful completion of this program requires
passing a written or oral test.

Commitment:
Group Class Observation 2 Six Week Puppy Socialization Classes 2 Six Week Level 1 Basic Obedience Classes
Private Lesson Observation 4 Lessons
One-On-One Instruction 4 One Hour Sessions
Indirect 20 Hours of Individual Instruction Outside Reading and Audio-visual Viewing
The above commitment requires twelve weeks and must be completed
over an eighteen-week period.
