Apprentice Level 2

Pet Dog Training Student

The goals and objectives of the Apprentice Level 2 program are to enhance the candidates basic understanding of animal behavior and the application of positive training techniques to dog training.  This program will increase the candidate’s skill level and observation techniques in preparation for instruction as a training assistant.

This program is structured to provide instruction and education in three distinct areas.  These include observation and participation in group training, private lessons, boarding training , and one-on-one training, group discussion, and outside reading and audio-visual education.

Successful completion of this program requires passing a written test and two practical demonstrations.

Prerequisite: Completion of Apprentice Level 1 or Equivalent

 Commitment:

             Group Class Observation
                        4 Six Week Level 1 Basic Obedience Classes

            Private Lesson Observation
                        8 Lessons

            One-On-One Instruction
                        8 One Hour Sessions

            Indirect
                        40 Hours of Individual Instruction
                        Outside Reading and Audio-visual Viewing

The above commitment requires twenty-four weeks and must be completed over an eight-month period.
