The goals and objectives of the Apprentice Level 3
program are to provide the candidates opportunity to learn and work as a
Pet Dog Training Assistant.This
program will increase the candidate’s skill level and teaching
techniques in preparation for a position as a training assistant or
entry-level trainer.The
candidate will participate in the development of individual and group
class training plans, observe evaluations and assessments of problem dogs,
and work directly with clients and their dogs under the direct supervision
of a training instructor.
This program is structured to provide
instruction and education in three distinct areas.These include observation and participation in group training,
private lessons, boarding training , and one-on-one training, group
discussion, and outside reading and audio-visual education.
Successful completion of this program requires
passing a written test, two practical demonstrations, and presentation of
a “New Class Orientation”.
Prerequisite:
Completion of Apprentice Level 2 or Equivalent
Commitment:
Group Class Observation 6 Six Week Level 1 Basic Obedience Classes
Private Lesson
Observation 40 Lessons
One-On-One Instruction 16 One Hour Sessions
Indirect 80 Hours of Individual Instruction Outside Reading and Audio-visual Viewing
The above commitment requires thirty-six weeks and
must be completed over a twelve-month period.
